It can be tough to get the help your family needs. United Way Helps is a free and easy way to find out if your family can get help from 12 different federal or state health and human services programs. This site will ask you a series of questions to determine if your family might qualify for helpful benefits. United Way Helps does not ask who you are and we do not share your information with anyone.
Regardless of whether or not you might qualify for any of the federal or state programs included on this site, please call United Way 2-1-1 to see if other local health and human service programs might be able to help you and your family. Simply dial 2-1-1 or (816) 474-5112 for free confidential assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
After completing the questionnaire, you will be provided with a list of benefits you may qualify for and contact information for each so you can begin the application process. Be sure to visit the "What to Bring" section on this site so you will know what information is needed to apply for each program.
